Weekly sport at King’s is about encouraging healthy attitudes to physical activity and team sport. It’s more about participation than elitism; we want everyone to have a go and have some fun. The aim of the weekly sports program is to provide opportunities for involvement in a positive, supportive environment. This promotes immediate and long term benefits to students – better health and fitness, socialization, improved feelings of self-confidence and self-worth and the satisfaction derived from skilled performance in individual and group activities. At King’s success at sport is measured much more broadly than simple win- loss ratios.
