For Reception students, King's@Home was a wonderful opportunity for family time and hands-on learning experiences. The children engaged in literacy tasks including reading, 'Tricky Words', picture book activities and word work. Maths tasks were things that could be done around the house, like using dried pasta to measure furniture and hunt for 2D shapes. The children also used IXL to practise maths, learning on their computers or iPads. We encouraged a lot of outdoor play (where possible) and part of our inquiry unit was to have a look around gardens or on a nature walk for where animals might live.
The feedback from parents was overwhelmingly positive and parents have been happy to share photos of the amazing learning their children have done at home.
