For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues through all generations.
The King’s Community is a Jesus-centred community that inspires hope by creating opportunity for people and families to do life better, together.
On Sunday, and again on Tuesday last, we acknowledged God’s blessing on our community as we celebrated the official opening of the King’s Community Centre. Although delayed due to COVID, the celebration was no less enthusiastic and heartfelt.
Sunday’s celebration saw Kathryn Churchett remind us of the King’s Story from 1858 – the Vision of Faith ‘baton’ (responsibility) that we accept, carry to the best of our ability and then one day, pass on ‘through all generations’ as we serve this community. Melinda Cousins (Director of Ministries, Baptist Churches SA) also led an inspiring meditation on Psalm 100.
On Tuesday, we welcomed our State MPs, local members and the design, building and trade teams for a further celebration and acknowledgement of such a beautiful and functional outcome.
Importantly, however, we celebrated with our Founders and other visionaries who, back in 1989 when we first moved to Wynn Vale, would have had no concept or understanding of what God was planning for this site.
With a similar sentiment, we have started work on our Adelaide Hills Campus at Mount Barker. I am excited to see God’s work unfolding and, therefore, wonder what that community might look like in 32 years…when I am into my 90s.
