As we conclude Term 2, I think it important to pause and acknowledge the great blessings we have enjoyed this term and indeed this semester.
By and large, we have been able to maintain an unaffected teaching and learning program; sadly however, many of us have had holiday plans postponed or cancelled. Of particular note is the progress on our King’s Community Centre - including auditorium, milk + honey café and various meeting, activity and conference accommodations. The opening of this facility will occur early in Term 3 and is the culmination of many years of prayerful discernment by the King’s Baptist Church and King’s Baptist Grammar School Boards.
Both the School and the Church, in a firm and fruitful partnership, seek to create ‘A Jesus-centred community that inspires hope by creating an opportunity for people and families to do life better, together’. The opening of the King’s Community Centre is a tangible expression of this commitment and of God’s abundant blessings. We must always remember however, that community is not buildings, but people.
I pray that - whether you are spending the next two weeks at home, or at another location (most likely) within South Australia - this time of rejuvenation and reconnection with family and friends is a blessed time, that you and your family are safe and that you have space to consider the blessing it is to belonging to a community such as ours – by no means a perfect community, but one absolutely committed to inspiring hope and the opportunity for all of us to do life better, together – just as God designed.
Have a superb break.
