In response to restrictions on performances by King’s students in the wider community, the 2021 Senior Music Captains created 'Battle of the Artists' as an exciting new performance experience.
Students in Years 6-Year 12 had the chance to compete for prizes - including vouchers to Cecere’s Music - and the title of 'Battle of the Artists' Winner. The event was so popular that a total of three rounds were held over successive Friday lunchtimes, students performing as solo acts, duos and bands. The grand final performance saw six finalists prepare a new song in the hope of impressing the judges and audience.
Congratulations to Year 10 student, Rhys M, for being the winner of our inaugural King’s 'Battle of the Artists'! The final scores were extemely close and we'd also like to congratulate our runners up, Ben and the Others (2nd place) and Trin and Cooper (3rd place).
We’d like to thank our incredible judges, all accomplished musicians in their own right – ‘King’ Jack Kyriacou, ‘Rockin’ Christina Russo, ‘Powerhouse’ Dennis Ambrose and ‘Golden Voice’ Caleb Everett whose invaluable experience and feedback was greatly appreciated by all. We look forward to making this an annual event on the King’s calendar.
