King’s offers scholarships to students seeking entry to King’s at Years 10 and 11.The scholarships will be advertised in the “Leader Messenger” during May 2012. The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER – an independent national research and development organisation) produces the Scholarship Selection Test (SST). The SST consists of a sequence of academic ability tests used to select students for the award of a scholarship. ACER produces the tests, supplies them to schools, marks candidates’ papers and reports results to the schools. Level 2 students sit the test in Year 9 to commence in Year 10 the following year. Level 3 students sit the test in Year 10 to commence in Year 11 the following year. The test items attempt to assess the following skills: analysis, comprehension, interpretation and reasoning. Extensive practice on tests of this type will not necessarily improve tests scores. Your best preparation is to read widely and think critically. As these tests are not formulated to test school achievement, the materials used for the questions are selected from a wide variety of sources and may differ from standard school-based curriculum materials.
Applications close – Friday 1st June 2012 For more information regarding Scholarships – check the site at http://www.acer.edu.au |
